Ian Stratford

My Mother has been involved with the Drama Group for as long as I can remember so I have been helping out in one capacity or another since I was 9 or 10 years old. My first onstage contribution was two lines in the 1973 pantomime 'Cinderella', this was followed by slightly bigger roles in four subsequent pantomimes before I retired from acting at the age of 15 !

I spent the next 30 years helping out backstage or behind the bar watching Mum and my sister Claire take all the plaudits until I was finally persuaded out of retirement to play a serial killer in 'Murder in Company'. Having taken 30 years to get back on the stage it is now virtually impossible to get me off it having featured in all but one of our subsequent performances.

I have served on the Committee since 2007 where apart from eating all the crisps and nibbles I am responsible for designing programs & posters as well as this website. I was President of the group from 2011-17.
